GREAT KILLS, Staten Island (PIX11) — Officials are investigating a single-vehicle accident involving an RV that was covered in campaign material for former President Donald Trump on Staten Island Sunday, according to police.
The accident happened near Haylan Boulevard and Reid Avenue around 12 p.m. when the RV with two people inside hit a pole, according to officials.
The bus, every inch plastered with signs supporting Trump, reportedly rolled down an incline and was seriously damaged running into the pole, according to a video of the aftermath.
An entire side panel of the bus was ripped off by the crash, and debris, including multiple pro-Trump signs, littered the ground around the site.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, according to police. The status of the people on board was not immediately available.
Trump was convicted Thursday of 34 felony counts of falsifying business documents, the first time a former president has ever been convicted of a crime.
The former president’s sentencing is scheduled for July 11. He could face up to four years in prison.
