HOUGHTON, Mich. (WLUC) – Michigan’s Republican nominee for U.S. senate is visiting the U.P. Mike Rogers held a campaign event in Houghton Saturday at Mine Shaft and Rock House.
He plans to address energy prices and cost of living prices on things like gas and groceries. Rogers says he wants to make America energy independent again, and he plans to bring down gas prices and put money into the economy. He says he’ll have rural U.P. residents’ backs.
“For the farmers who are struggling here, we will have your back,” Rogers said. “For the police officers who are under siege, people thinking police officers are bad and criminals are good, we’re gonna change that, we’re gonna have your back.”
Rogers says America is all border states now. He says he wants to work with Donald Trump to close the southern border and address Michigan’s fentanyl crisis.
