The Grundy County Republican Central Committee has shared a letter it has written and sent to 12th District State Senator Rusty Black of Chillicothe.
When the committee met on July 9th in Trenton, a request was made to contact Senator Black to see if he would support the Grassroots True Trump slate of delegates and issue a statement to the news media by July 12th, or face possible censure. David Meservey made the phone call.
At a Republican committee meeting on Thursday, July 18, those present expressed their disappointment that Black did not issue a formal news release.
A letter, with signatures of 24 persons, was written and sent to Black, describing the letter as the official censure notice. The motion to proceed with censure included a statement that Grundy County Republicans are disappointed with his votes in Jefferson City—particularly for not supporting IP reform.
The letter concluded by describing Grundy County as grassroots, conservative patriots fighting for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in their support of Donald Trump and J.D. Vance for the next president and vice president.
